In which case you can do horrible drunken covers of Boston's More Than A Feeling and I will still love you, but you redeem yourself anyway by out-Danzigging Glen Danzig. Covers can be good and fun. Booker T and The MGS covered like every song extant up to the time in which they were performing, and they still were great. Today i was listening to a pretty hot reggae cover of "don't stop till you get enough." But a band that was borderline emo to begin with covering a covered-to-death new wave pop standard and adding nothing to it other than nostalginc irony doesn't do anything for me.
