I'm a scholar and organizer. I completed my PhD in NYU's American Studies Program in 2015 and am currently living in Albany, NY. My current book project is on the history of service workers at U.S. universities from 1964-1980. I look at the role of food service, maintenance, custodial, clerical, technical, and medical employees in the expansion and restructuring of universities from world war II and the years after it into the neoliberal moment. I'm especially interested in how the relationships between universities and urban space are figured in the relationships between university managers and administrators and the often racialized and gendered labor force they rely upon. More broadly, I'm interested in labor, social movements, cultural theory, radical movements and history, autonomism, organizing, birds, and lots of other stuff that the rather voluminous but totally neglected (by me, anyway) archive of this blog only sort of attests to.
