UPDATE: So to summarize the rant below, i guess my real question is: why does Yale's ministry of propaganda think that a piece which calls a description of sexual assault a crass ploy for attention constitutes "good press" for the university?



Considering the fact that Yale's Office of Public Affairs (sorry, couldn't resist an old google bomb) never links to anything at all critical of the university, its shocking and outrageous that tey would link to this screed, a vicious, cruel, and totally wrong-headed attack on Naomi Wolff and, well, women's sexual empowerment. Wolff correctly noted and attacked Yale's institutional obscuscatory tactics and refusal to condemn sexual harassment or commit to working towards a just framework to deal with this issue - (one knowledgeable individual on this topic has argued that prof-student daterape is now a far less pressing issue than student-student rape, assault, and/or harassment on Yale's campus). Instead of admitting that Wolff was right, or even being its usual obfuscatory, lying self and saying "umm, we'll look into it," the university has its propaganda ministry link to this disgusting peice of trash (which they actually copied from the WSJ into PDF form so we could all read it without having to register online to the paper,) which more or less proves Wolff's point about Yale and makes me digusted and ashamed.
