Coxsone's Music City was, in high school, sort of like the Mecca i never made the hajj to or something. I knew it was there. I desperately wanted to go, particularly when i was working at Moon Ska, but i didn't know my way around Brooklyn for shit and i was kind of intimidated by the prospect of actually meeting the guy who discovered bob marley and produced some of the most important music in the history of the african diaspora, so i never made the trek. Now that Coxsone's dead, i probably never will. Still, it's kind of crazy reading about the place in the NYT.
