Alyssa's meditation on yesterday's defeat in the senate of an effort to legislate homophobia into the U.S. constitution offers a stark indictment of the democratic party's failure to pursue an agenda in any way related to sexual and social justice, which, she convincingly argues, makes the democrats complicit in what Kushner calls the murderous agenda of the religious right and the Catholic church in blasting the conservative leadership of organizations like the Human Rights Campaign.  Alyssa's piece insightfully picks apart and levels righteous and rightful wrath at the cynical and marginalizing tactics of the supposedly progressive half of the aisle.
