NYU update

Here's a link to NYU's memo announcing their decision to the university community. There's a lot here, but paticularly galling for me is the news that the administration's "final offer" not only abolished the grievance procedure, but, had the union been desparate enough to accept it, would have implemented a so-called "open shop" in the graduate school, making union membership "voluntary" for all teaching assistants.
