“The Sheratons in Hawaii have been sending non-union staff to be strike
breakers at the Sheraton Palace in San Francisco” said Hernando Tan, Local 5’s
President. “They entered into the fight in San Francisco, so they should not be
surprised that that fight followed them back to Hawaii.”

Locked out San Francisco hotel workers have set up a picket line around Sheraton (Starwood) Hotels in Waikiki, Hawaii. UNITE HERE! Local 5, in Hawaii, has contract language which allows them to respect picket lines in this sort of situation, and refuse to cross, and they are doing so en masse.
