"I was looking for a job, and then i found a job, and heaven knows i'm miserable now."
I've felt lonely plenty of times in my life. At my second elementary school, in 7th grade when i was the big hairy stupid anarchist from suburbia, in 12th grade when i felt like the world had turned, and, to quote another paean to (post)adolescent angst, "left me here," my first year of college trying to navigate urine-soaked floors and cold marble hallways and not, as i would then have characterized it, get turned into a fascist misanthropic asshole for the rest of my life. (In subsequent months and largely through involvement with organizng and several friendships with some folks who mean a great deal to me, i ultimately problematized even the understanding of the world i initially sought to defend from Yale's colonial advances. This past summer was bad, but at least folks could tell me i'd find a job and shit would improve, but right now i either want to scream or cry or just go find someone to hug. Agh.
note to the editorial board of the NYT: weapon inspections may have "worked", but the sanctions, which killed over a million people during a twelve year period, need to be understood through a much more complex lens depending upon how one situates oneself in relation to the ideological matrices of security, insurgence, genocide, and "mass destruction." I don't really feel like getting into all this any more at this point, so maybe i shouldn't be blogging about it. Ah, screw it. I'm goin' out to get some food.
