The Rockettes' musicians are striking, and apparently so are the Rockettes. Maybe we could visit each others' picket lines or something.

iTunes essentials has a list of "Indie Rock Love Songs" which they promise are not about "anger or boredom." Sounds like a cute idea, right? Except that a bunch of the songs they list -- The Pixies' "Gigantic," Sleater-Kinney's "Modern Girl," Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart Again," are about nothing so much as anger, boredom , and alienated, ironic, dissafectation. Not exactly John Cusack-holding boom box-under-window material. Shit, "Modern Girl" doesn't even remotely pretend to be a love song.
