The new Kweli "mix" cd is actually quite good. Probably better than Beautiful Struggle, abandoning the Kanye beats for less flashy stuff from DJ Khalil, Pen Skills, Charlemagne, and Jay Dilla. The result is that the rhymes kind of speak for themself, which is generally a good thing. We actually get a Mos Def verse, and it's a good one - no homophobia, no anti-semitism, just "respiration"-style good mos def, for a change. The track with MF Doom is ok, but i got issues with the "it's like having relations without the penetration" line. I also don't think the production is really worthy of either Kweli or MF. It's not so much that it'sbad as that it's not weird enough. I'm going to shut up now, because i clearly have no fucking idea what i'm talking aboot.
