The Senate Democrats (all but Ron Wyden and Tom Harken -- yes, Josh, even Feingold,) who voted today to confirm John Negroponte as director of national intelligence or whatever must really love death squads. Because they knew what he did in Honduras, this is the only rational explanation i can reach for such a shocking capitulation to a man (possibly more than) complicit in tens of thousands of murders. Whether this is calculated cowardice or just simple fascism doesn't matter. Any pretense of the democrats as "the good guys" or the "reality based community" is now dead.
