After barely leaving my apartment in the last week and a half plus, I snuck out tonight to celebrate Channukah with Erin, JL, Ana, Josh P, and Erin's friend T. We went to Veselka and I had amazing cabbage borscht and way, way, too many Latkes and I read up on pan-africanism and specifically the pan-african congress of 1945 organized by Padmore and Nkrumah and the notes of which St. Clair Drake had in his manuscript collection I sifted through at the Schomburg for HVC two years ago in search of the "Brown Baby Problem." I am glad I ate lots of Latkes. Tomorrow I will get up early and write until my eyes bleed.
