GHOD went well tonight. Working on paper now. Scanned Cynthia Young's "On Strike at Yale," (the best history I've read of the early history of graduate employee unionism at Yale and the grade strike purges from one of the three organizers targeted by the administration's disciplinary putsch) into .pdf today for use with paper and because I'm sick of having to go to the panopticon every time i want to read it - I do wish the Minnesota Review would put its archive online.

If you'd like a copy, let me know, and i'll pass it along unless someone tells me i shouldn't for copyright. It's worth reading for NYU folks because of the parallels which are so easy to trace between Yale's response to graduate employee job actions and NYU's, and because of the methodical account of Kagan Pollitt, the "six year" plan, and the relationship between time to degree "streamlining," casualization and specifically the rise in adjunct labor, and Yale's transformation from a 4.2 billion dollar corporation to the 19 billion dollar behemoth it is today.

And on that note, i just filled out my application for a TA job next semester.
