That's my nonsensical response, completely and unapologetically lifted from "Punks in the Beerlight," off the new Silver Jews cd, Tanglewood Numbers, to the anonymous commenter who called me an anti-semite below. I'm getting a little tired of being called an anti-semite. It's neither remotely true nor particularly funny. And i'm pretty touchy about it. The Silver Jews cd is pretty good, by the way. Better than the last one, not as good as American Water, but not much is. Tanglewood Numbers is less drony, more lush. The pavement alumni are back. Will Oldham guests. There's a lyric "police conversation, 1783." There's a shout out to "Mutt and Shania" in the thankyous. Nashville must be a really small place.
