Real quick: i bought the new Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings album today - it's very, very good. even if i disagree with the liner notes that soul ends at Otis Redding, and i realized that the drummer used to play with some people i know in a band called Social Hero. Which is kind of crazy. I remember these things because Mattnick and Ben "obnoxious jerk" T. used to talk about him in high school for some reason, and you don't easily forget a name like his. (Want to know his name? Buy the freaking album. It's worth it. The cover of "This Land is Your Land" is incredible and i don't think it's even the best song on the CD.)
